In 1991, a group of volunteers got together to restore the rusting Engine No. 1. Not only did they restore it, they rebuilt it and it began pulling passengers again in 2000. Today, the engine and the museum are maintained and run by volunteers.

Movie Night at the Museum
Come join us here at the Tanana Valley Railroad Museum for the showing of a Disney Classic - The Great Locomotive Chase (1956), Saturday, January 19 at 6pm.
This blast from the past - starring Fess Parker as James Andrews, a secret spy who needs to steal a train from the Confederacy during the Civil War and return it to the Union.
